POS and the phone app

How it works

  1. 1

Pair a PC or a phone with a code from the dashboard. A phone can be a counter POS, an office POS or a rider's phone.

  2. 2

Staff sign in with a PIN; a manager approves discounts, returns and price changes with theirs.

  3. 3

Every sale reaches the dashboard as soon as there's internet: stock, the shift's cash, and who did what.

What a sale looks like

Scan or search, tap the quantity, take cash, bKash or card, and the receipt prints. A customer with a member card is on the sale with one scan, and their points count.

The shift

Open a shift with the float, sell, hand cash in, close with a count. The expected cash sits beside what was counted, every time.

In the product

The till

A till app for a Windows computer at your counter. It keeps selling when the internet is down, prints receipts, opens the cash drawer, reads barcodes and weighs loose goods. Every sale reaches your Dukani once it's back online, and the shop and the website share one stock count.

A grocery sells rice by the kilo and biscuits by the packet at the counter. The scale weighs the rice, the scanner reads the biscuits, and the stock the website shows goes down with every sale.

The phone app

The Dukani app for Android phones. The owner or a manager sets a phone up as a till, at the counter or in the office, and each person who delivers signs in on their own phone with their Gmail. A rider sees only the orders he is taking out, and the money he collects is counted as his until he hands it in.

A restaurant takes orders on its website. They ring on the phone at the counter, the manager accepts them, and the delivery boy sees each one on his own phone, collects the cash at the door and marks it delivered.

Questions

Does the POS need the internet?
No. It sells, prints and keeps stock with the internet off, and sends everything the moment it's back.
What do I need to buy?
Any Windows 10 or 11 PC, a receipt printer and, if you like, a cash drawer and a barcode scanner. See the hardware guide.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Selling, receipts and the cash drawer work offline; the till sends everything once it's connected again.
What do I need?
A Windows computer, and if you like, a receipt printer, a barcode scanner, a cash drawer and a scale.
Does a rider need the owner to set his phone up again?
No. If he changes phone or reinstalls the app, he signs in again with his Gmail and gets his phone back.
What happens to the money on a phone that is removed?
The phone has three days to send what it took before it was removed, unless you remove it and discard what it holds, for a lost or stolen phone.
